I’m standing at the back of the boat looking over the edge. It’s night, an I’m the only one on deck. It’s cold, very cold, my hands are almost frozen to the metal rail.
I’m crying. The tears freeze as they run down my frostbitten cheeks. The pain is pounding on my chest. My heart is shattered.
“What are you waiting for? Jump.” I hear him say behind me.
“No please just leave me alone.” I said still looking out over the water. The pain in my chest now almost unbearable.
“No one loves you anymore, I don’t even love you anymore why don’t you do the world a favor.”
I can’t speak all I can do is fall to my knees one hand still on the railing the other clutching my heart as I sob uncontrollably.
“This is your fucking fault! You did this to yourself! You ruined this relationship. I never loved you I just tolerated you! Do the world a fucking favor, Devan!”
I’m shaking as tears consume my eyes. Then I feel the rail disappear and I feel his strong, furious hands push me off the edge. And in the moment I know I am going to die all I feel is relieved. Right before I hit the cold north pacific water, I wake up.
